“Price of fuel will always be rigged”: South Africans discontent with fuel price hike advice

South Africa faces another significant petrol price increase in March, according to predictions by the Automobile Association.

Mzansi netizens were frustrated with the increase and took to Twitter aka X to express themselves.

Another significant increase in petrol prices expected in March according to eNCA. A thing that has South Africans are bracing themselves for the financial strain it will bring. Based on unaudited data from the Central Energy Fund, the Automobile Association forecasts that petrol and diesel prices could surge by up to R1.20 per litre, with illuminating paraffin set to increase by 63 cents per litre.

As South Africa braces for yet another significant increase in fuel prices, many citizens find themselves grappling with financial uncertainty and frustration.  The National Debt Review Center detailed ways motorists can manage their fuel consumption. It is recommended to prioritise regular vehicle maintenance to ensure the car works well and consumes less fuel.

One can also cultivate smart driving habits which can reduce consumption if one maintains a steady speed and uses gears properly. Exploring alternative transportation options like carpooling, opting for fuel-efficient vehicles and leveraging technology.
