The billionaire supported a conspiracy theory that paints Jewish people as racist greedy people who invade communities to exploit them.
Disney’s boycott makes no sense to Elon Musk
Prominent corporations, including IBM, Disney, CBS-owner Paramount Global, NBCUniversal, Comcast, Lionsgate, Warner Bros. Discovery, and Apple, have opted to suspend advertising in the wake of the endorsement. Additionally, these companies found that their ads were being placed alongside antisemitic accounts on the platform. The boycott is estimated to cost the platform approximately $75 million.
Most recently, Elon questioned why Disney sponsors TikTok and Instagram even though they have a higher chance of being exposed to antisemitic views on the apps. Musk shared a graph on X:

The billionaire has been rumoured to side with extremist right-wing rhetoric in the past. Elon totes the line and gets support from conservatives who appreciate the image he exudes (rich, male and powerful). Musk’s critics were not expecting his antisemitic remarks.
What did Elon Musks’s antisemitic post on X say?
On the 15th of November, 2023, the billionaire endorsed a conspiracy theory that promoted hate against the Jewish community by retweeting it with the words:
“You have said the actual truth”
According to the New York Times, The post in question claimed Jewish people harboured ill intentions towards white people, saying:
“Jewish people are now “coming to the disturbing realization that those hordes of minorities that support flooding their country don’t exactly like them too much.”
These antisemitic comments were received negatively, sparking a boycott against ’X’ by putting advertisements on hold.

The billionaire expressed regret for his endorsement and visited Israel to learn from his mistakes. But in an interview held after the visit, he told advertisers off using foul language.
He resisted what he perceived as attempts to censor the platform ‘X.’ Before his latest tweet about Disney, Elon also directed explicit remarks to Disney’s chief executive Bob Iger.
