The official Presidency of South Africa posted a video on X of Cyril Ramaphosa taking part in the water challenge. To close the event dedicated to the youth, Cyril ramaphosa did the Water Challenge.

The dance is based on the song by Tyler, who recently won a Grammy award for her viral song. Cyril Ramaphosa was with three others who wholeheartedly did the dance that was a hit on tiktok. Watch the video below:

Most netizens complained about the video, arguing that there were bigger issues to address. X users in South Africa vented about unemployment, student debt and more, saying no politician should be dancing.

@NalediChirwa was amazed:

Tyla’s takeover explained


The song the president danced to became a hit in 2023. Tyla has steadily ridden the wave all the way to the Grammy Awards, where she made history as South Africa’s youngest nominated and the youngest Grammy winner.

Tyla is also the first to win an award in the category established especially for Africa.
