The TikTok creator posted a video of her struggle meal that she tried to elevate through clever cooking.
University student cooks with limited chicken
A young woman on TikTok @khikhiski cooked a meal while broke in a post she shared on the shortform video platform. The student showed people how she manages to make her food stretch.
She prepared some chicken pasta and only used half a chicken breast. In a TikTok, @khikhiski showed how she made the meal hearty by adding some vegetables such as mushroom. The TikTokker also prepared a pasta sauce and added some spices. Check out her post by clicking here.

The student who cooked the healthy meal got some netizens’ praise on social media. People commented with their food opinions on the struggle meal. One online user noticed that some of the ingredients were from Woolworths and thought it proved the student was not really broke. The creator insisted that Woolies is often cheaper than other supermarkets

How to make meat last longer?
Small amounts of meat such as bacon, sausage or chicken like the TikTokker (@khikhiski) had can be made to stretch. The young lady who created the cooking content showed that adding extra vegetables is a great way to make a meal with out that much meat feel more satisfying. This method can be described as “bulking”. Food24 shared bulking recommendation including adding beans and grains such as pasta, rice, sorhgum and other starchy foods to meat.
The way vegetables are cooked can also add more flavour for example by roasting. Spices and herbs such as cinnamon, and chillies can be used to maximise meatiness.
