The self-proclaimed “Gossip Club” Maphepha Ndaba on Instagram recently reported that Cassper Nyovest is engaged to his childhood friend Pulane who is from Mahikeng, Northwest.

South African rapper Cassper Nyovest, legal name Refiloe Phoolo, was recently reported to be set to have a traditional wedding on Saturday 16 March 2024.

What happened to Thobeka Majozi?

Maphepha Ndaba posted an invitation to the alleged wedding between Pulane and Cassper. Many South Africans on Twitter (X) are wondered what happened to Thobeka Majozi, Cassper Nyovest’s ex girlfriend and mother of his son.

Cassper and Thobeka Majozi’s relationship was kept relatively private and away from social media but in 2023 there were rumours of a break up. In an interview shared by SA Hip Hop (@SAHiphopfeeds on Twitter) Cassper Nyovest clarified that he was dating the mother of his child saying : “Ke jola le mama ka Kgotso fela” ( I am only dating Kgotso’s mom).

Cassper Nyovest confirms Thobeka Majozi breakup

In early 2024, on 7 February, Cassper Nyovest appeared on a podcast and confirmed breaking up with the mother of his child and shared the reason for the breakup. South African Content creator and podcaster Mpoomy Ledwaba invited the Doc Shebeleza hitmaker to her podcast on Youtube to share his journey in the music industry and how it impacted his life.

In the interview he talked about his journey in music, finding God and sex addiction, saying his addiction was his master saying “it used to tell me what to do”. He also admitted that he created a mess and hurt the mother of his child and then later confirmed their break up. He also added that he had been single for two years at the time of the interview, which means the rumours he initially corrected were indeed true.

South Africans divided by Cassper Nyovest alleged engagement

Many South African’s took to Twitter (X) to express their view following the news of the Mama I Made It rapper’s engagement to Pulane. Some viewers are confused as to why the Rapper failed to commit to his baby mama Thobeka Majozi (@bexxdoesitbetter on IG) after he turned his life around and started his addiction recovery journey.

“What’s up with gents impregnating women then leaving them as single mothers only to go and cuff someone else. it’s disgusting. The excuse he used to justify playing Thobeka Majozi was BS if you ask me.”

Others are happy for the couple and believe that the lifelong friendship will be a good foundation for their marriage.

Cassper and Pulane spotted on a weekend out

Neither Cassper nor Pulane have confirmed nor denied the alleged engagement or upcoming wedding but they were spotted together this past weekend. In a video shared by MDN News on twitter, the alleged couple is seen at a night club together with a group of friends. Although the video doesn’t show them being intimate, people are convinced about the couple’s upcoming wedding.
