Doja Cat was one of Coachella’s headliners and she took to the stage with a South African choir and many were delighted. The Woman hitmaker dazzled with her Coachella performance which has gone viral on TikTok and other platforms.

Doja Cat took to the Coachella main stage with a choir, The Joy when she performed Shutcho from her latest album Scarlet. Peeps applauded Doja for collaborating with The Joy to give Shutcho a Maskandi feel. Maskandi is Zulu folk music and The Joy seamlessly melded their voices to harmonise with Doja Cat.

Doja Cat and The Joy applauded by SA

The videos of Doja Cat and the choir delighted many peeps. Netizens were buzzing that Doja Cat may have been giving a nod to her South African roots. According to The Citizen the rapper’s dad is a South African actor Dumisani Dlamini who played Crocodile in Sarafina. Check out fans’ comments:

Her outfit was all hair to compliment a long blonde wig and her dancers were dressed the same. Many thought it was Doja’s response since many have questioned her coily hair.
