Nicki Minaj and Megan Thee Stallion Rap Feud: Who started it all?

Nicki Minaj has released her upcoming track Bigfoot amidst a feud with Megan Thee Stallion.

The new track is directed at rapper Megan Thee Stallion who released the single Hiss and took aim at Drake, and delivered one bar dedicated to Nick Minaj

Nicki Minaj expressed her frustration on social media, taking offense at the song and its creator, as both seemed to reference Nicki’s controversial partner, a registered sex offender.

Megan the Stallion possibly calls out Kenneth Petty aka Mr Minaj

Megan’s Hiss seemingly took a jab at Nicki’s husband, Kenneth Petty, a registered sex offender. In her lyrics, she mentioned “Megan’s Law” to make a pun about the federal law in the USA, which requires that law enforcement share info about sex offenders with the public. Kenneth Petty was put under house arrest for failing to report to register for his crime according to the law.

The fiery lyrics led to a heated exchange between the two artists. Nicki Minaj went on a 72-hour social media rampage before releasing Big Foot.

Nicki Minaj responded by calling Megan a liar and talking about the rapper’s deceased mother. In addition, the song accuses Megan of sleeping with her ‘friend ‘‘Man’ and using ghostwriters. Nicki used colourful lines like, “If you a ghostwriter, Pardi in Megan jaw.” Listen to the full song below:

Fans find Nicki Minaj’s lyrics distasteful

Though some Barbz find the rapper’s antics to be representative of the culture, the pro-feminist movement begs to differ. With most fans point out that the diss track and 72-hour social media run were an exaggeration. Most took to ‘X’ formally on Twitter and TikTok to express offence.

Some listeners found the involvement of Megan’s mother disrespectful.

Why did Megan thee Stallion diss Nicki Minaj?

When Nicki’s hit song, FTCU dropped, it commanded attention with a line of lyrics which read:

“Stay in your Tory lane, [redacted], I’m not Iggy.”

Many interpreted the lie to mean Nicki thinks Megan is copying her, as here previous accusations that Megan imitated Iggy Azalea o. The mention of Tory Lanez is a reference to the rapper who shot Megan the Stallion in the foot.
