Grade 1 fever: Durban kid found after going missing on 1st day of school in South Africa

A Durban first grader Lindokuhle Ntsethe went missing on 17 January 2023, leaving his mom distraught.

Durban pupil missing on 1st ever school day

A five-year-old Durban grade 1 pupil, Lindokuhle Ntsethe, went missing after boarding the wrong taxi on his first day of school. To the mother’s relief, the young boy was later found at Sydenham Primary School. 

How did Durban grade 1 pupil get lost?

Though the mom and son had a happy ending, the incident happened because there was an early school dismissal without warning. The KwaZulu-Natal education department clarified the situation, emphasising that the child inadvertently took the incorrect taxi.
