5 South African businesswomen to support for International Women’s Day, 24 year old millionaire and more

International Women’s Day is dedicated to honoring the achievements of women and promoting women’s rights

The theme for International Women’s Day 2024 was “Investing in women: Accelerate progress” and in celebration ClickHub has put together a list of five businesswomen who are making an impact and deserve support in their ventures.

1. Aesthetics by Chioma owner made 1 million before 24

Chioma who created Aesthetics by Chioma shared her experience with making her first million rand in sales before 24 years old. She struck gold after starting a skin care brand. The young lady’s business focuses on providing quality products made from natural ingredients.

She made a TikTok video to empower other women by explaining how she would make her business better if she started it in 2024. Watch the clip below:

2. TikTokker Kayla launches Afro curl hair care line

TikTok creator Kayla, came out with her own hair care brand named Afro Curl. The TikTokker used her experiences and challenges with her own curly hair to create products that are fit for different hair types.

Kayla proved to be a branding genius as she has had success selling snack boxes, sour lemons and merch for fans before venturing into hair. Afro Curl is he latest venture, easily identifiable with her signature pink colour pallet for the business. Watch a video below to see how Kayla packages her products to create a memorable brand:

3. Zimtoti bakery by Siwe Ntombela champions African ingredients

Siwe Ntombela focused on her passion for cooking to start an online bakery. The inspiring woman set herself apart by specialising in using indigenous ingredients to make delicious breads and desserts all made with plant based ingredients.

The bakery is five years old and the creator’s passion is clear through the content she creates while running her business. Watch a video about her business below:

4. Akhona Kom creates bonnets for locs

The Loc Nation Africa enterprise is completely dedicated to people who have dreadlocks. The founder of the company, Akhona Kom dons a head full of near floor length locs which she has had for 21 years. She created a jumbo sized satin bonnets that would fit locs including anyone who has been growing them for more than a decade.

5. Woman celebrates success in male dominated business

One woman showed off her furniture business based in Gauteng, Johannesburg. In a video she showed one of the pieces of furniture that she designed and produced.

Her varied educational background comprises a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) and a Bachelor of Social Sciences in Politics and International Studies from Rhodes University.
